First video with Grace on the Ukulele

A month later, Grace would sing this song as the first song at the open call audition for AGT.

Grace and the Ukulele

Back in 2015, Grace’s mom Tina served as ”backup” host for Au Pairs who for some reason did not fit weel with the families they ahd been placed with. One of them, a Brazillian girl, played the ukulele ”and I looked up to her and thought she was really cool. She played ukulele and I loved the look and the sound of it, and the second I started playing it, I picked it up really fast and loved it. and I looked up to her and thought she was really cool. She played ukulele and I loved the look and the sound of it” (Ukulelemag.com). ”My sister had introduced me to Twenty One Pilots and I saw the lead singer (Tyler Joseph) playing the ukulele, so I just had to learn it.” (Daily Beast June 10 2016)

She asked for a ukelele for her 11th birthday but didn't get it because her mom thought she we get tired of it quickly. So, she took the $50 she got for her birthday and bought it herself

”The second I started playing it, I picked it up really fast and loved it…. Too many people limit the ukulele to cute love songs or happy songs, but I think one of funnest parts of the instrument is playing with what it can be depending on what you’re saying or what you’re feeling. The ukulele can really follow whatever you’re saying or feeling in your song. I think that is really cool because it can complement dark words or dark lyrics so nicely, because it’s been kind of limited to happy songs.” (Ukulelemag.com)
